Frequently Asked Questions
Didn’t find your answer? Send us your question and we’ll reply within one business day.
Ask a questionDo I need to file a tax return if I had no income?
Not always, but it often pays off: a return gets back withheld tax and lets you claim credits. Students on F, J, M and Q visas file Form 8843 even with no income.
What is the difference between an Enrolled Agent, a CPA and a regular tax preparer?
An Enrolled Agent is licensed by the IRS itself and, like a CPA, can represent clients before the IRS on any tax matter. A regular tax preparer has very limited representation rights.
How long does it take to prepare a tax return?
A simple return with all documents in place takes us up to 3 days; complex ones usually up to 2 weeks. In March and April it takes longer, so send your documents early.
Do you only work in New York?
No, we work with clients in all 50 states, fully remotely: consultations by video or phone, documents through a secure client portal.
